Torben and me have been elected as members of the Steering Committee representing all students in the BrainTrain programme as a part of Marie Curie network. So we participated in the first Steering Committee meeting in Uppsala as fellows with all supervisors. We discussed ECTS points, time schedule for training and workshops in 2012 and other concerns of all fellows.
We will represent all early stage researchers again in the coming up annual meeting in September in Trieste.
Having lived in Japan for almost a year, I had already become accustomed to earthquakes. Yokohama, the city where I work, has been relatively lucky in that earthquake epicenters have been quite far away. Usually by the time the tremors reach my area, only a small wobble can be felt. However on Friday 11th of March, as I was standing in the street (I was sick that day and had just come out of the pharmacy) I knew what I felt was different. Read More
